👋 🎄 Ollie’s Recruitment Journey: From Elf to Expert 🎁

Last month, we introduced you to our newest recruit, Ollie Fellowes—our ex-MET detective turned recruitment sleuth. Since then, Ollie’s been busy putting on his best little elf hat and learning the ropes of recruitment under Matt’s watchful eye.

In his first month, Ollie shadowed Matt, learned the nuances of the trade, and successfully placed his first candidate: Jordan, who’s now thriving in a customer service role. That “first placement” buzz has given Ollie a taste for success and an appetite for cracking even bigger recruitment cases.

But, as we all know, recruitment is no fairy tale—it’s tough, competitive, and sometimes as unpredictable as the British weather. Month two has been a baptism of reality, with Ollie hitting the road across Warwickshire armed with business cards, good conversation, and festive gifts. He’s been busy knocking on doors, having quick chats, and building relationships the good old-fashioned way.

While the results haven’t arrived just yet, Ollie has had some very promising conversations and is laying the groundwork for 2025. We’ve seen his determination in action, and we have no doubt he’ll be bringing in his first set of jobs early in the new year.

⚽ Matt’s Other Passion: Recruitment Meets Walsall FC 🎉

If you know Matt, you know he’s got two great loves in life: recruitment and Walsall Football Club. This month, the two came together for a fantastic cause close to Matt’s heart.

The legendary Jimmy Walker, who made an incredible 475 appearances for Walsall FC during the ’90s, ’00s, and early 2010s, has just released his autobiography—and the profits are going to the JW23 Foundation.

The JW23 Foundation is a brilliant non-profit set up by Jimmy himself, offering mental and physical support for retired or released footballers. It’s a cause that reflects Jimmy’s dedication to the football community, both on and off the pitch, and Brellis Recruitment was proud to be involved.

Hannah placed two temps at a leading utilities provider this month:

• One supporting Customer Service.

• Another diving into the world of Credit Administration.

🌟 A Career Journey to Remember
One of Nicole’s proudest moments was seeing Helen, who she initially placed as a temp in Customer Service at a retail product business, land herself a permanent HR Advisor role at the same company. It’s always rewarding to see temps transition into permanent positions—it’s why we do what we do!

🎓 Graduate Success
Zoe worked her magic and found Sam, a talented graduate, for the same retail product business, where he’s set to make an impact.

🔧 Banbury Bonanza
In Banbury, Zoe, Nicole and Hannah had multiple successes with a privately owned components and fasteners business:

• We placed a HR Assistant and a Finance Administrator there.

• For their next-door neighbours, we sourced an Interim Head of Finance to help steer their operations through a key transition.

⚖️ Legal Industry
A Membership Coordinator found their perfect fit at a Law Membership business, supporting their operations and member relations.

📊 Payroll Precision
To round off the month, Nicole placed a Payroll Officer with a Leamington-based business, ensuring their end-of-year finances are in safe hands.
